Matthew
13:44-46
The kingdom of heaven is like a
treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has
and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking
fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all
that he had and bought it.
Luke
14:31-33
What king, when he sets out to meet
another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is
strong enough with ten thousand men to
encounter the one coming against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the
other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. So
then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own
possessions.
Luke
12:13-15
Someone in the crowd said to Him,
"Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with
me." He said to him, "Man, who
appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over you?" Then He said to them,
"Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does
his life consist of his possessions."
Mark
10:17-30
He was setting out on a journey, a
man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what
shall I do to inherit eternal life?" And Jesus said to him, "Why do
you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments,
'DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE
WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'" And he said to
Him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up." Looking
at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go
and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in
heaven; and come, follow Me." But at these words he was saddened, and he
went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus, looking
around, said to His disciples, "How hard it will be for those who are
wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!" The disciples were amazed at His
words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is
to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of
a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." They were even
more astonished and said to Him, "Then who can be saved?" Looking at
them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all
things are possible with God." Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we
have left everything and followed You." Jesus said, "Truly I say to
you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or
father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, but that he
will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and
brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with
persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
Luke
12:32-34
"Do not be afraid, little
flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. Sell your
possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear
out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth
destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Luke
16:1-13
"There was a rich man who had a
manager, and this manager was
reported to him as squandering his possessions. And he called him and said to
him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for
you can no longer be manager.' The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do,
since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough
to dig; I am ashamed to beg. I know what I shall do, so that when I am removed
from the management people will welcome me into their homes.' And he summoned
each one of his master's debtors, and he began
saying to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' And he said, 'A
hundred measures of oil.' And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down
quickly and write fifty.' Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?'
And he said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill,
and write eighty.' And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he
had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to
their own kind than the sons of light. And I say to you, make friends for
yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails,
they will receive you into the eternal dwellings. He who is faithful in a very
little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very
little thing is unrighteous also in much. Therefore if you have not been
faithful in the use of unrighteous
wealth, who will entrust the true riches
to you? And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which
is your own? No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one
and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and wealth."
Matthew
25:31-40
When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and
you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick,
and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' Then the righteous
will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty,
and give You something to
drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and
clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' The King
will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it
to one of these brothers of Mine, even
the least of them, you
did it to Me.'”
