Luke 4:24-30
Jesus said,
"Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown. But I say to
you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the
sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over
all the land; and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath,
in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in
Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but
only Naaman the Syrian." And all the people in the synagogue were filled
with rage as they heard these things; and they got up and drove Him out of the
city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built,
in order to throw Him down the cliff. But passing through their midst, He went
His way.
Matthew 8:5-13
When Jesus
entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, and saying,
"Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully
tormented." Jesus said to him,
"I will come and heal him." But the centurion said, "Lord, I am
not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant
will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me;
and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another, 'Come!' and he comes,
and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it." Now when Jesus heard this, He
marveled and said to those who were following, "Truly I say to you, I have
not found such great faith with anyone in Israel. I say to you that many will
come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons
of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there
will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." And Jesus said to the centurion,
"Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the servant
was healed that very moment.
Mark 7:24-30
Jesus got up
and went away from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a
house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice. But
after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit
immediately came and fell at His feet. Now the woman was a Gentile, of the
Syrophoenician race. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her
daughter. And He was saying to her, "Let the children be satisfied first,
for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
But she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the
table feed on the children's crumbs." And He said to her, "Because of
this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter." And going back
to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.
Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus came up
and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them
to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the age."
Matthew 24:14
This gospel
of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the
nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 25:31-40
When the Son
of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His
glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will
separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the
goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. Then
the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My
Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave
Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you
clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to
Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and
feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You
a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You
sick, or in prison, and come to You?' The King will answer and say to them,
'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of
Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
